Is Rep. Hank Johnson smarter than a 5th grader?

NO.

The 4th district of Georgia desperately needs a new congressman. To think that this man had a vote on the healthcare bill!

Game, Set, Match

This one's for the Obmamabots in the media who "got all wee wee'd up" about Sarah Palin's facebook post last week. Verum Serum has compiled a great post exposing the hypocrisy of those running around right now throwing the charge of "violent rhetoric."

"Targeting" vulnerable members of congress during election years is nothing new, and it has nothing to do with violence. Nobody gets upset when democrats make maps with targets...

A little hope for change

Real Clear Politics has an excellent article shedding light on some of the naysayers claims that ObamaCare will never be repealed. I highly recommend reading the article in its entirety, but here's just a sample:

This bill is more similar to government programs that Congresses have repealed.

Programs that are perceived as broad middle class entitlements do tend to become untouchable. With programs that are perceived as social insurance or redistribution mechanisms, though, the track record is spottier. The idea that Congress never repeals programs once they have begun is unsupported by history. Congress repealed a large portion of the New Deal in the 1940s, and substantial portions of the Great Society were gutted as well; there is a reason that the WPA, CCC, and OEO are referred to only in history books.

Obama Disses Netanyahu

Currently the United States is fighting a war in Afghanistan, a war in Iraq and is doing everything in its power to prevent Iran (and its illegitimate dictator) from gaining nuclear weapons. Our only ally in the region is little Israel. How does Obama treat the Israeli prime minister during his visit to Washington?

I wonder what Rahm thinks...

Tea Party in Harry Reid's Hometown

Today, about 10,000 tea partiers gathered in Harry Reid's hometown of Searchlight, Nevada (population 576).

Sarah Palin addressed the crowd. You can hear her full speech below:

Give Us a Break, You Caved, Man!

In related news, Mark Levin interviewed Stupak's republican challenger. He's a general surgeon, and from the sound of it, he's a regular guy. He's not a smooth talker, and he's not a political expert. From my estimation, all of that is a good thing.

UPDATE:
It appears that Bart Stupak's collapse of morality was worse that first estimated. It is now being reported that the Obama administration awarded him $726,409 in grants for airports in his district in exchange for his vote. Just one more reason to vote this piece of something out of office.

Bart Stupak: Feaux-Life Democrat

Make no mistake, Bart Stupak can no longer call himself a "pro-life" Democrat. With his vote on the Senate health care bill, Stupak is supporting the largest expansion of abortion procedures in the United States since Roe v Wade.

Anyone who has ever taken a basic civics class knows that an executive order is always trumped by written law. Tonight, Stupak votes for written law. The fact that he and his fellow so-called "pro-life" Democrats are willing to abandon their principles for a flimsy promise from the most pro-abortion President in American history is nothing short of disgraceful.

The Susan B. Anthony foundation has already stripped Bart Stupack of his Defender of Life award.

UPDATE:
If I felt at all bad for being hard on Stupak before, I don't anymore. Stupak went as far as to stand on the house floor and argue against the Republicans motion to recommit his own original pro-life amendment into the bill.

VOTE TOMORROW

The vote for the health care takeover is less than 24 hours away and it seems Democrats still haven't locked in the votes. Here is the most up to date whip count I can find:

204

209

Leaning FOR

From Firedoglake:
If you look hard at the numbers, you can see why Pelosi is talking with Stupak and pro-choice women. With 214 No or lean No votes (including the Stupak bloc), Pelosi would have to prevent Dahlkemper and Kaptur from joining them. Then she would need all the other uncommitted votes, save one. That means she would have to get everyone who voted yes last time, plus Jim Matheson or Harry Teague (and all the lean Yes votes who went No last time, like Brian Baird and John Tanner). It’s just not that plausible.

Rep. Pence: "We can win this fight!"

It's Go Time

This is it. The vote is set for Sunday. The Democrats are engaged in an all out assault on American liberty, and the time to fight back is NOW.

Hopes are for a huge rally against the government takeover of heathcare on Saturday at 12pm on the Capitol Steps.
Please go to D.C. this weekend if you can.

Heritage Foundation gives a preliminary analysis of the reconciliation bill:
Disaster
  • Penalties for those who don't buy government approved healthcare
  • New taxes for anybody who uses prescription drugs or medical devices
  • New taxes for anybody who has health insurance?
  • No fixes for bribes and special deals
  • Penalties for small business who don't offer health insurance
  • Millions of Americans dumped into already broken Medicaid program
  • PROVIDES FOR TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTION
  • Removes state and local controls over state and local employee's health insurance
Headache for Nancy; some democrats are trying to hold out and hope this bill goes away:
I hope they're right

Biden: "We're going to control the health insurance companies."
The truth

Another reason for congress to vote NO:

This bill effects you. You should call the numbers on this list even if you are not in a blue dog district. Be courteous, but tell them in no uncertain terms to vote NO on government run health care.

Dems Still Two Short...

As of right now, the HOR (snicker) doesn't have enough votes to pass Obamacare. This is good news but with dem leaders ready to make blue-dogs an offer they cannot refuse (horse heads and concrete shoes come to mind), it's waay to early to celebrate.

Get this. Lindsay Graham says that anyone who calls him a RINO would have called Ronald Reagan a RINO. LOL.
